(Phnom Penh): According to a credible official source, foreign intelligence has reported that Thailand plans to use AT6 TH light attack aircraft, equipped with Korean GPS-guided bombs, to carry out an assassination attempt on Senate President Hun Sen and Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet. These aircraft are considered less detectable than conventional F-16 fighter jets and are optimized for stealth and targeted strikes.

According to the source, Thailand received a shipment on 29 July 2025, consisting of eight AT-6TH aircraft, 200 GPS-guided bombs, and four additional aircraft either newly procured or refurbished in South Korea. The munitions reportedly have high precision-strike capabilities, posing a severe threat if deployed.

The operational plan includes a test run at Phnom Trop to evaluate the aircraft’s performance. Since August 4, 2025, the Thai military has reportedly been assessing battlefield conditions along the border. Should they fail to gain control over the eight disputed areas, the Thai Air Force is expected to launch the assassination mission from an airbase in Trat Province, likely aiming to evade detection by Cambodian maritime defences.

Execution of the operation would reportedly depend on intelligence gathered from inside Cambodia, including exact residential coordinates of Samdech Techo Hun Sen and Prime Minister Hun Manet. The plan involves using GPS-guided bombing to directly eliminate both leaders.
