រាជធានីភ្នំពេញ ព្រឹកថ្ងៃចន្ទ ទី៥ តុលា ២០២៦

Presiding over the Opening Ceremony of the 25th General Assembly of the Veterans Confederation of ASEAN Countries (VECONAC).

Hosting the VECONAC General Assembly in Cambodia presents ASEAN veterans with a significant opportunity to reaffirm their shared commitment to strengthening solidarity, friendship, and cooperation, while fostering the exchange of experiences and best practices to promote veterans’ well-being.

The Cambodian Veterans and Pensioners Association has been a member of VECONAC since 2010, actively contributing to regional cooperation and strengthening ties with counterpart veterans’ associations through exchanging experiences and signing various cooperation agreements.

The 7th legislature of the Royal Government of Cambodia has continued to prioritize improving the livelihoods, well-being, and dignity of veterans, retirees, persons with disabilities, and the families of fallen and deceased personnel by strengthening social security systems, healthcare services, and social protection. Key support measures include social security benefits and healthcare services; financial assistance for the families of fallen and deceased personnel; the allocation of social land concessions and housing support; and scholarships and skills training for the children and dependents of veterans and retirees from disadvantaged backgrounds. Concurrently, the Royal Government has allocated social land concessions to further advance development of settlements for veterans and retirees. This initiative supports those facing economic hardship, as well as the families of fallen and deceased personnel, in establishing sustainable livelihoods, increasing income, and improving living standards with dignity.
